Google’s AI image editor, Nano Banana, is moving from Gemini to the company’s ecosystem. In a new blog post, Google announced that Nano Banana—the Flash-powered image editing tool powered by Gemini 2.5—is coming to Google Search, NotebookLM, and soon, Photos.
The feature, which allows users to create or edit images with text prompts, has already generated over 5 billion images since its launch in August. Now you can open Google Lens in the Search app, tap “Create,” and instantly transform your photos using AI. In NotebookLM, Nano Banana is quietly working behind the scenes to enhance video overviews with new visual styles like watercolor and anime, as well as a new “Brief” format for quick conclusions.
As Mashable reported earlier this month, Google has been testing Nano Banana integration into Search, Lens, and Circle to Search, signaling the company’s effort to make AI-powered imaging tools a core part of how users explore and create.
Google says the Photos launch will happen “in the coming weeks,” so soon your entire camera roll will be able to experience the Nano Banana’s imaging powers.
